TRACK YOUR READING:
This year, school-aged kids will be grouped to compete against each other and against adult teams. Stop in each week to turn in your reading and check the progress on our challenge board. The groupings will be:
• Primary School and Ouisconsing School of Collaboration (OSC)
• Elementary School
• Middle School and High School students
• All other students (Homeschool, Blessed Trinity, etc.)
Each team will vie for a spot on the podium. Parents can choose to read with a team of all adults or work as a family to boost the total for their child’s team.
(Preschool read-to-me registrants also should track their reading and turn it in for prizes, but won't be included in the competitive head-to-head battle.)
Earn your place for the party!
MAKE YOUR SUMMER READING COUNT FOR MORE!
Preschoolers: Log the same reading time for the Summer Reading Program and for 1,000 Books Before Kindergarten
Older Kids: Remember that reading to a younger sibling or friend counts as reading time for BOTH of you! Babysitting work can be reading time for everybody.
Preschool to 5th grade readers: Complete at least 5 hours of reading to receive your invitation to the library’s SPECIAL super-secret, end-of-summer WATER BATTLE! On the designated date, each invitee will meet at the library and traverse to the secret water battle location as a group. Earn your invitation by recording reading times! Parents: you may participate in the water battle if you also have turned in 5 hours of reading!
Middle and high school readers: Complete at least 5 hours of reading to receive your invitation to the library’s SPECIAL super-secret, end-of-summer teen-only CHOCOLATE OLYMPICS! On the designated date, each teen invitee will meet at the library and compete in a variety of challenge games using chocolate confections!
All summer long, bring that correct month's bingo card to the library and earn stamps by completing tasks - there are 3 separate cards: June, July, and August, and you can win one prize each month by earning 10 stamps.
We've got a whole summer of events coming up - check out the whole list here.
There's a separate list for the TEEN events, too.
