How do I get a library card?

Full document: Library card and materials use policy (pdf)

First, you must fill out a library card application form (pdf) or solicitud para tarjeta de la biblioteca (pdf) . Bring the completed form to the library, along with photo ID & proof of current local address (if your driver's licence is correct, it can serve as both). All library card applicants must be at least 5 years of age. Juveniles must have a parent or guardian signature on their library card application.

When do I need my card?

Your library card is required to -

  • Check out & renew materials
  • Place holds
  • Pick up your holds
  • Use library computer resources, including the Internet and kids games

Lost Cards & Replacements

Returns

During regular library hours, materials may be returned at the library desk. We have two bookdrops conveniently located in the circulation desk, and they are emptied several times each day.

Additionally, we have two 24-hour drop boxes in the entryway. These drops are emptied once per day, in the morning when the library opens. Please place books only in the marked box; the "other library materials" box is intended for more delicate items such as DVDs and CDs. Please note that some library materials are not suitable for return in our entryway book drops (toy kits, items in book bags). If possible, these items should be returned to the desk during library hours.  Never leave library materials on top of or next to the dropbox!

Renewals

Any patron may make renewals by:

  • Stopping in the library
  • Using LINKcat
  • Phoning the library at (608) 592-4130

Your library card is required for all renewals.
