Our community-wide read book this summer is David French's book Divided We Fall. It takes a look at divisions in our country and explores the dangers of tribalism and political polarization. It's a nice companion piece to last year's Tribe by Sebastian Junger. One of the fascinating things about Lodi is that we're a beautiful city made of people with really different perspectives on life, and that is a kind of microcosm of the country as a whole. We're certainly not endorsing a single way of viewing the world or the author's point of view. We're just hoping to encourage conversations and to have one ourselves.
- Following Diana Hess' presentation on Saturday, June 11, we'll have free lunch at noon and a book discussion at 1:00.
